Description

Annie holds an MA in development studies with over 25 years of field experience in the Great Lakes Region and Internationally. Annie has been involved in various initiatives geared towards inclusivity and sustainability, both with local and international NGOs. Annie is part of the founding members of Rwanda Initiative for Sustainable Development (RISD), LandNet Rwanda, and Center for Inclusive and Sustainable Development (CISD), currently its coordinator. Annie is widely recognized for her advocacy in promoting the role of small farmers in sustainable deforestation-free production and protection of the land rights of women and men, especially the vulnerable and majority rural who depend on land for their livelihood.

The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on integrated land use, dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Climate Agreement. The Forum takes a holistic approach to create sustainable landscapes that are productive, prosperous, equitable and resilient and considers five cohesive themes of food and livelihoods, landscape restoration, rights, finance and measuring progress.
