Restoration Academy
Description
The Restoration Academy is a workshop series that aims to connect local and national implementing organisations to the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030) and grow the global #GenerationRestoration movement. The workshop sessions include an array of topics relevant for impactful ecosystem restoration implementation and provide space for knowledge exchange, peer-to-peer learning and networking. The Restoration Academy was developed by several projects from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) with funding from the German Federal Ministry of the Environment, the BMUV, through Germany’s International Climate Initiative (IKI). Editions of the Restoration Academy have taken place with participants from Central America, and East and West Africa. Eight of the participating organizations are presenting their work and experiences in two GLF Nairobi conference sessions.
