Description

Dr. Wadid Erian has been a professor of soil science at Cairo University since 2001 and is currently a Senior Advisor for Sustainable Development at the League of Arab States. He has carried out a long list of applied research projects and studies in the areas of Sustainable Development, Drought, Land degradation and Land Use Planning in over 100 countries. He has also been a lead author of several United Nations reports on the subject, including the Regional report the Attainment of SDGs in Conflict-Affected Countries in the Arab Region.

The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on integrated land use, dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Climate Agreement. The Forum takes a holistic approach to create sustainable landscapes that are productive, prosperous, equitable and resilient and considers five cohesive themes of food and livelihoods, landscape restoration, rights, finance and measuring progress.
