Description

Bas Louman is programme coordinator of Tropenbos international, based in the Netherlands, coordinating programs related to finance and climate. His emphasis is on supporting more inclusive (IPLC, smallholder farmers, women, and youth) finance in support of integrated landscape management in tropical forested landscapes. He has worked for over 30 years in tropical forest management & conservation and later linked to climate change. His experience lies mainly within the American tropics having worked for organizations such as SNV, WWF-US and CATIE. He holds a PhD in natural science and development from a consortium of Costa Rican universities.

The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on integrated land use, dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Climate Agreement. The Forum takes a holistic approach to create sustainable landscapes that are productive, prosperous, equitable and resilient and considers five cohesive themes of food and livelihoods, landscape restoration, rights, finance and measuring progress.
