Description

Mwambu founded CARICO in 2016 to try to sustainably improve the future of coffee farmers. 50 years earlier, his father helped set up one of the first coffee cooperatives on Mount Elgon. He studied Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College and following a year at the BBC World Service, he worked as an independent journalist. He then worked in communications and public relations in the telecommunications and banking industries in Africa.

The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on integrated land use, dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Climate Agreement. The Forum takes a holistic approach to create sustainable landscapes that are productive, prosperous, equitable and resilient and considers five cohesive themes of food and livelihoods, landscape restoration, rights, finance and measuring progress.
