Filmed over four years in twelve countries, The Last Glaciers captures the fragility of the natural world, the impact that a growing human population has on our life support systems and the friendship, personal challenges and tragedies experienced by the explorers during their journey. The film tells the story of climate change through the visual impact of one of the planet's most important and yet critically threatened resources – glaciers.
The Generation Restoration Film Festival will screen an exclusive preview of a fragment of The Last Glaciers, in which the explorers travel to Peru to look at depreciating tropical glaciers and what this means for the local communities. The Last Glaciers full-length film will be released during World Water Day, on March 22, 2022.
