Support Humanity Cameroon

Description

Support humanity Cameroon (SUHUCAM) is a grassroots environmental, humanitarian and development organization created in 2017. Our area of interest is forest, agricultural and pastoral land restoration, Habitat restoration, climate change, biodiversity conservation and livelihood support. Since 2019, we initiated and have been leading a restoration initiative in Bamunkumbit community in North West Cameroon. With the support of over 250 community volunteers (women, youths and indigenous Mbororos), we have planted over 7000 trees and distributed about 2000 umbrella and fruit trees to small holder farmers. This initiative have featured in over 10 media news outlet including state owned The Cameroon Insider and Canal2 International (a local TV channel). Since our creation, we have benefited from enormous support from the National Forestry Development Agency (ANAFOR), sister organizations, Climate Reality Project (Africa Branch), local and indigenous communities.... With the launch of the UN decade on Ecosystem Restoration and the recent selection of SUHUCAM to lead GLF Yaounde Chapter, our aspiration is to leverage on the resources provided by GLF and other partners to bridge the information gap in Cameroon and scale our restoration initiative to other regions of Cameroon.
