Description

Dr. Hannes Böttcher works at Öko-Institut and is Team Leader of the group Biogenic Resources and Land Use. He has worked on and published research for 15 years, focusing on biomass potentials, modelling of forest management, global monitoring of forests as well as accounting rules for LULUCF. In 2008, he received his PhD degree from the University of Freiburg that included the development and application of a forestry carbon budget model. From 2007 to 2013 Hannes Böttcher worked at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) where he coordinated research on projections of LULUCF sector GHG emission.

The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on integrated land use, dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Climate Agreement. The Forum takes a holistic approach to create sustainable landscapes that are productive, prosperous, equitable and resilient and considers five cohesive themes of food and livelihoods, landscape restoration, rights, finance and measuring progress. It is led by the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), in collaboration with its co-founders UNEP and the World Bank and Charter Members.
