Lawyer, popular educator and researcher at the Amazon Environmental Research Institute Research Institute of the Amazon (IPAM), Brazil. Alcilene has been working for the last 25 years in environmental and land issues and working with the strengthening of social organizations linked to family farming and extractivist activities in the Amazon, such as associations, councils, cooperatives, unions and others. She holds a master’s degree in Social Sciences with a focus on human rights and environmental citizenship and is a doctoral candidate in Society, Nature and Development, Environmental and Social Impacts of Land Use Change in the Amazon. Alicante is also a member of the Sustainable Consumption and Trade Collegiate of Tapajós among other councils and working groups, focusing her work on conservation and traditional communities, where she develops projects and actions in various themes.
