Description

Klaus Ackermann is Head of the GIZ Global Programme Responsible Land Policy, initiated as part of the Special Initiative ONE WORLD - No Hunger of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The program with the main objective of securing the land rights of families in rural areas, focusing especially on women and local communities, is currently being implemented in 7 countries, 6 of them in Sub-Saharan Africa. He has ten years of working experience in Sub-Sahara Africa, Mali, Mozambique and Madagascar. His specializations include land use planning, land governance, forestry and sustainable land management.

The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on integrated land use, dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Climate Agreement. The Forum takes a holistic approach to create sustainable landscapes that are productive, prosperous, equitable and resilient and considers five cohesive themes of food and livelihoods, landscape restoration, rights, finance and measuring progress. It is led by the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), in collaboration with its co-founders UNEP and the World Bank and Charter Members.
