Description

Mudongo is a research and field programs coordinator at CLAWS (Communities Living Amongst Wildlife) Botswana, Okavango Delta, and Botswana. He leads and guides field and research teams on CLAWS’ communal livestock herding and lion alert programs. Mudongo is a wildlife and rangeland ecologist with 15 years of experience in wildlife research and monitoring, human-wildlife conflict mitigation, community participative approaches and holistic land and livestock management in both governments (2007 – 2014) and non-governmental organizations (2015 – current). He is an author and co-author of seven peer-reviewed scientific journal articles on wildlife and rangeland management. Mudongo pioneered the first aggregate communal livestock herd to improve rangeland health and reduce conflict with wildlife in Botswana. He is a member of the Human-Wildlife Coexistence Working Group and Commodity Based Trade of Beef in Ngamiland, Botswana steering committee.
