Description

Nicola has an enduring curiosity about how people shape cities and landscapes through their everyday lives, and the kinds of knowledge they have as a result. Nicola currently works on urban sustainability at ICLEI Africa, with a focus on climate change and urban food systems. Nicola holds a Masters in Environmental Change and Management from Oxford University, and during her Masters research, she asked how immigration and cultural exchange affect both people's dietary choices and the sustainability of the food system. She has explored the science behind the environmental impacts of the food system as well as questions about why people eat what they eat and how diets change.

GLOBAL LANDSCAPES FORUM (GLF)

The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on integrated land use, dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Climate Agreement. The Forum takes a holistic approach to create sustainable landscapes that are productive, prosperous, equitable and resilient and considers five cohesive themes of food and livelihoods, landscape restoration, rights, finance and measuring progress.
