International Land Coalition Africa (ILC Africa)
Description
The International Land Coalition (ILC) is a network of more than 300 Civil Society and Intergovernmental organisations united for “people centred land governance”. ILC Africa, the African chapter of ILC, currently brings together 95 member organizations from 28 African countries.
The ILC strategy 2022-2030 positions secure land rights as central to realising sustainable climate management, promoting sustainable food systems, challenging the existing deep inequalities, and promoting democracy.
We implement this strategy through multistakeholder member-led platforms at country and community levels as well as through regional member-led multistakeholder advocacy platforms.
In Africa, we currently work through twenty member-led multistakeholder platforms who work towards realizing the ILC network collective goal of achieving secure land rights for women and men who live on and from land, as a pre-condition to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
