Akinyi Chemutai is an Environmentalist focused on restoration, circular economy, climate change, renewable energy and ESG (Environment, Social and Governance). She is the Co-Coordinator of GLFx Nairobi chapter that focuses on landscape restoration and advocates for the urgency for sustainable landscapes through youth and women leadership. She believes in sustainability that combines conservation, development, knowledge and community. For five years, she has been a strategic and analytical Program Manager with extensive experience coordinating the technical and financial aspects of projects in the sector; complementary background managing projects in sustainability and circularity roles. Skilled in data-driven needs assessments, grant-based program implementation, and ongoing program evaluation. As an Environmental Consultant, she is on a mission to demystify sustainability and climate change mitigation. She has focused on bringing clarity, impact-based solutions and practical roadmaps to companies and organizations with a mission to further their positive impact on the planet and society. She has provided sustainability insights and operational guidance to multiple diverse teams within the off-grid renewable energy sector on e-waste management, circularity and climate mitigation at local, national and regional levels. She is also a passionate volunteer and has participated in conservation, climate justice and youth leadership efforts.
