Jan Willem den Besten is an expert in conservation policymaking and finance. After a two-year assignment as part of the Dutch delegation to the CBD in the run up to COP15 he is currently back at IUCN in the Netherlands leading the Conservation Finance team and the Mobilising More for Climate program. This initiative focuses on designing and mobilising finance and other resources in 6 landscapes in West and East Africa and Indonesia. The landscape approach is central to the approach of this and other project Jan Willem and helped design and implement.

GLOBAL LANDSCAPES FORUM (GLF)

The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on integrated land use, dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Climate Agreement. The Forum takes a holistic approach to create sustainable landscapes that are productive, prosperous, equitable and resilient and considers five cohesive themes of food and livelihoods, landscape restoration, rights, finance and measuring progress. It is led by the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), in collaboration with its co-founders UNEP and the World Bank and Charter Members.
